Tube Based Fire Suppression Systems
Tube Based Fire Suppression Systems
Ube-based fire suppression systems, often associated with providers like Mitsu Fire Safety (or similar industrial safety firms), are specialized “in-panel” solutions. They are designed to stop fires at the source before they can spread to the rest of a building.
How Mitsu’s Systems Operate
These systems utilize a Linear Detection Tube made of a specialized polymer. The tube is pressurized with an extinguishing agent (like CO2 or a Clean Agent) and acts as a continuous heat sensor.
Self-Actuating: The system requires no external power or electronics. It is entirely pneumatic.
The Burst Point: When a fire starts, the heat causes the tube to burst at the hottest point (typically between 150°C and 180°C).
Targeted Release: The burst creates a nozzle-like opening, immediately spraying the extinguishing agent directly onto the flame.
Key Advantages
1: No Power Required: They are entirely mechanical/pneumatic, meaning they work during power outages.
2: Rapid Response: Because the tubing is “at the source,” detection happens within seconds of flame contact.
3: Low Maintenance: Fewer electronic components mean higher reliability and simpler inspections.
4: Minimal Damage: Most use “Clean Agents” (like FM-200 or CO2) that leave no residue and are non-conductive.
